- 10/01/08: Wendy's High School Heisman Award Program - www.wendysheisman.com - Seniors who excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership
- 10/10/08: www.californiamuseum.org - Seniors, tell about how your dream will leave a lasting mark on California - $5,000
- 10/17/08: Women's Transportation Seminar Sacramento Chapter Scholarship - Senior girls that are pursuing a career in the transportation industry with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and going to college after high school graduation. Recipient will recieve $500 and an invitation to the WTS Scholarship dinner. For more go to the Career Center website, http://cougar.eduhsd.k12.ca.us/counseling/cc/SchReg.html.
- 10/30/08: Horatio Alger Society - www.horatioalger.org/scholarships - Seniors with 2.0+gpa and financial need who have demonstrated integrity, determination & courage in overcoming personal adversity.
- 10/31/08: Prudential Spirit of Community Award - www.prudential.com/spirit - Students of any grade who are active volunteers. One student from El Dorado will be selected for local award. State awardees receive $1,000 and national get $5,000.
- 10/31/08: Coca Cola Scholarship - www.coca-colascholars.org - Seniors with a 3.0 gpa and a well-rounded resume. 250 scholarships of $10,000 and $20,000.
November deadlines
- 11/30/08: Stokes Educational Scholarship - www.nsa.gov/careers - Seniors who are planning to study computer science or electrical engineering.
December deadlines
- 12/01/08: If you're applying to Sierra Nevada College, come to the Career Center and ask about the $8,000 scholarship before December 1st.
- 12/1/08: SAE Engineering Scholarship Program - www.SAE.org - Seniors who are intending to earn a degree in engineering, math, chemistry, physics, biology, or computer science.
- 12/1/08: Soroptimist's Violet Richardson Award - Young women between the ages of 14 and 17 years old and volunteers in the community or school.
- 12/15/08: AXA scholarship - www.axaonline.com - Seniors who have outstanding achievements in their activities in school, community or workplace. - $10,000.
- 12/15/08: metroPCS scholarship - Seniors with a 3.0 GPA and are planning to attend a two or four-year college can win $1,000.
January deadlines
- 01/09/09: Evelyn Horn Scholarship - www.edc-scholarships.org - Seniors who intend to work toward a 4 year degree
- 01/09/09: Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship - www.elks.org - $1,000 and $500 for local and $1,000,000 for National. Seniors with good grades, leadership potential and financial need.
- 01/12/09: Gates Millennium Scholars scholarship - www.GMSP.org - Hispanics, African-Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Asian-Americans who have good grades and high financial needs.
- 01/15/09: Greeting Card Scholarship - www.gallerycollection.com/scholarship - $10,000 for students 14 years and older are invited to create greeting cards.
- 01/15/09: McKelvey Foundation Scholarship - www.mckelveyfoundation.org - up to $10,000 (renewable) for seniors who own and operate a genuine business or non-profit with at least one paid employee.
- 01/26/09: CIF section Scholarship - www.cifstate.org - Seniors who have at least two years of varsity sports, and have a 3.5 GPA.
- 01/30/09: EDHS Alumni Scholarship - www.edc-scholarships.org - Seniors who have a parent or grandparent who graduated from EDHS.
February deadlines
- 02/1/09: Schwab Rosenhouse Scholarship - www.jewishsac.org - Seniors planning to attend a two-year, four-year, or vocational school can recieve $1,000.
- 02/1/09: California-Hawaii Elks scholarships - www.chea-elks.org - Seniors who have a physical, neurological, visual, hearing, or speech-language impairment.
- 02/1/09: www.calcollectors.net - Seniors write an essay about maintaining good credit in college.
- 02/02/09: Young Epidemiology Scholars - www.collegeboard.com/yes - $50,000 for juniors and seniors who will submit a research report that sheds light on a health-related issue.
- 02/02/09: Burger King Scholarship award - www.bk.com/scholars - $1,000 for seniors who have volunteer experience, a 2.5 GPA, and a part time job.
- 02/02/09: www.cacesf.org - Write an essay on the importance of maintaining good credit throughout your college years and win $1,500, $2,000, or $2,500.
- 02/10/09: $20,000 KFC Scholarship - www.kfcscholars.org - For Seniors who are planning to pursue a 4-year degree in California.
- 02/15/09: Bust Buy @15 scholarship - www.at15.com - High school students who have at least a 2.5 GPA, a commitment to community service, and are planning to attend a 2 or 4 year technical school after graduation.
- 02/16/09: RMHC/Asia Scholarship Program - www.rmhc.org - Seniors who have at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage and who are eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school.
- 02/20/09: The Links Incorporated - www.sacramentolinks.org - Three different scholarships are offered to African American students with 2.5 gpa and career goals needing an education beyond high school.
- 02/28/09: US bank scholarship - www.usbank.com/studentbanking - $1,000 for anyone, thirty scholarships being offered.
